Our hand-knitted beanies are crafted from 100% baby alpaca wool, that is hand-processed into a fine yarn after the alpacas have been combed out. Sourced directly from the indigenous communities of Peru, the fibers are hand-selected before being spun into a yarn by hand- an ancient and rare technique preserved through generations. This hand-spun yarn, with all its natural softness, is then delicately dyed using native plants from the Andean region, ensuring each piece is free from chemicals and fully respectful of nature.

After the hand-dyeing process, the yarn is hung to air-dry under the sun, absorbing rich colours of the Peruvian landscape. Only when the fibers are fully dried does the intricate work of hand-knitting begin. Each beanie is crafted with double-layer structure, making it reversible for versatile wear. This meticulous process, 100% manual and rooted in tradition, ensures that every piece is a true labor of love, made to bring you the unparalleled warmth and softness of baby alpaca wool.

A curious and interesting fact: The term "baby alpaca" wool refers to the wool fiber that comes from the first shearing of an alpaca, and not to the age of the animal itself. The first shearing is done when the alpaca reaches adulthood at the age of 3 years old. This makes baby alpaca fiber exceptionally soft and warm.

Made with higher standards. We preserve artisan craft by paying wages that average 2x the fair trade requirement.

Dry cleaning is the best option for removing stains or occasional cleaning.

Alpaca is a natural fibre. It is softer, stronger and warmer than merino and cashmere. Alpaca farming is sustainable, as alpacas are free roaming and shorn once a year. Alpaca fibre can last decades and it will bio-degrade at the end of its useful life.
