As a child, my parents used to take my brothers and I to visit communities and do social work in Peru. There I learnt that in Quechua (the Inca's language) there is not word for friends, only for brother and sister. I was taught that the idea that we are all related is a beautiful way to look at the person next to you, to help him or her when in need.

With Covid-19 this though became more present and I couldn't stop thinking in all those artisans and Indian communities who have just become more vulnerable as they rely on tourism. So, I decided to combine my passion for design and craftsmanship and work with local artisans and Indian communities from Peru to create unique handmade clothing and accessories.

Today all that work has resulted in Andina World.

Above all Andina World pays respect to the craftsmanship heritage and the people behind every product. Meaning that all our items are fairly traded, as every artisan has received a fair and honest payment for their work .

I hope that each Andina World piece adds warmth and beauty to your home and outfit for years to come and that you find a truly unique, one-of handmade piece.

We work with artisans from the north and south of the Peruvian Andes. Men and Women of all ages who are working to preserve the ancestral inca's weaving technique that they learned form the generations who have gone before them. Working with alpaca wool and organic cotton that is native to their area, the artisans from the Peruvian Andes not only keep this weaving tradition alive, they are depending on it for their livelihoods.

Last but not least, each weaving community has its own weaving technique, giving every Andina World article its own very regional character from the north and south of Peru.

I hope that each Andina World piece adds warmth and beauty to your home and outfit for years to come and that you find a truly unique, one-off handmade piece.

Alpaca is a natural fibre. It is softer, stronger and warmer than merino and cashmere. Alpaca farming is sustainable, as alpacas are free roaming and shorn once a year. Alpaca fibre can last decades and it will bio-degrade at the end of its useful life.
